Nihil Ultra

1. The Name of the society shall be "ST. XAVIER'S UNIVERSITY KOLKATA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION" hereinafter referred to as "THE ASSOCIATION".

2. The Registered office of The Association shall be situated at St. Xavier's University, Action Area III B, New Town, Kolkata - 700160 in the State of West Bengal.

3. Objects of the Association :-

(i) The principal objective of The Association shall be to organise various activities to ameliorate the sufferings of the poor, needy or ailing, whether in the form of provision of scholarships, stipends, Library/Reading Room facilities, study and research centers for the meritorious and needy students or in the form of medical, for the ailing of community organization for the upliftment of the weaker sections of society and for improvement of the environment and the general quality of life, for the advancement of education and culture beneficial to the community at large including the care of relief of orphans or of aged, sick, helpless, or indigent person.

(ii) The Association shall in addition have the following objectives:

a. To maintain liaison between the ST.XAVIER'SUNIVERSITY, KOLKATA (Administration, Faculty Members and present Students), hereinafter referred to as "The University", and the alumni, who are in different professions in life.
b. To provide advisory, academic or other suitable support to The University for augmentation and development of Academic, Vocational and Training facilities including the support to downtrodden and poor.

c. To organize and participate in Seminars, Discussions, Discourses, Debates, Conferences, education tours etc., for promotion of literature, art, science or other studies.

d. To do, through Advisory or other bodies for meeting the various needs of the existing student body of The University in activities which are compatible with the objectives of The Association subject to their satisfying the provision of section 4(2) of West Bengal Societies Registration Act 1961 and which have the support of The Association.

e. To create and provide opportunities for social interaction between the members and associates and othersalong with their families at regular intervals and to promote special interest groups amongst them in any professional, social, cultural, educational, athletic or sports and other fields in which they are interested irrespective of any caste, creed or religion.

f. To actively support, and augment the special interest groups in organizing any programmes, shows, meetings, exhibitions, projects or other activities for propagation of such special interest amongst the members and associates as also the general public, more particularly the downtrodden section of the society.

g. To promote special groups of the alumni of various batches.

h. To provide support by whatsoever means considered fit and possible, to the ailing or the victims of any natural or man-made calamities.

i. To do charitable activities for diffusion of knowledge and dissemination of social, political, or economic education.

j. To print, publish and distribute books, bulletins, magazines, periodicals, souvenirs, booklets, prospectus, bills and posters or cause such to be done on behalf of The Association.

k. To render assistance to students of the university and to the poor and downtrodden section of the society through grants, scholarships and prizes and to provide assistance in academics, placement or any other area as appropriate.

l. To provide technical collaboration by alumni researchers and faculty in top research institutions.

m. To encourage and facilitate the alumni taking up activities that are geared to improve society at large and contribute to national development.

The object shall always remain restricted within the scope of section 4(2) of the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961. All the above objects shall be done as per prevailing Law of the Country.
